The Most Awkward weekend of my life!!!!
Ok, first off. The weather stinks in Wisconsin. LoL actually yeah it does stink but I am enjoying the snow storm. Tomorrow they are canceling churches and we are having an on campus church service because they are not wanting us to leave campus. And to top it off, THE GIRLS CAN WEAR PANTS!!! OH YEAH! Today I worked at the Youth Conclave at Calvary Baptist Church. It's a HUGE Youth Rally that they have every year. Mr. Hafeli (my former boss at the snackshop) wanted me to help out in the book store there. So I was able to do that. Due to the weather there weren't as many teens as they had hoped but it was still good I hear. My Youth group from Stoughton came out. I got to visit with Sammy and Crystal for a little bit which made me happy. I am really sad that we can't go to church there tomorrow because I wasn't there last week and the week before I was gone too, (or something like that, can't remember) anyway it feels like an eternity since I've been there. It won't be too long before the people think I am trying to get away from them. DON'T WORRY I'M NOT I love the people in that church more than anything! It's the rides that bug me but totally worth the pain! Ok enough of that... I am stuck working tonight in the HC. One of the staff girls had to fly out to visit friends on the last minute so I was asked by Mrs. Muse to take her shift so here I am. With the weather I should be glad that I am getting paid to stay in my house, but I am sad because they are doing campus entertainment tonight due to the fact that no one can leave. But I can't go cuz I am under house arrest!!! Ok I won't complain. On to other things: This has been the most awkward weekend of my life!! Lets just say since 12am this morning I have been freaked out by one of my best friends, mad at him, forgave him, had him mad at me, had things totaly awkward, almost been proposed to, almost accepted that proposal as a joke, had a long talk with someone and because good friends again. It was weird. I would go into immense detail about all of this, but I don't exactly know quite what's going on. But now that all is good again and a few friends who butted in are satisfied my friend and I decided to play a little revenge... ooo ooo ooo revenge is sweet!!!!Labels: about me, campus, personal, random thoughts, Stoughton

Romeo-Romeo, Wherefore art thou oh Romeo
Ok, I really need to stop thinking back to my "childhood" I'm finding way to much ammo about myself. Ok, here's the topic of the night: Old "boyfriend" I was thinking about it and there were only 4 guys I was "seriously into" growing up. I won't talk about any except for one because it was just tooo perfect. My first (one of only 2 I might add) real "boyfriend" was named (this IS his real name too) Calvin Klein. He was the coolest 7th grader on the Moorcroft Christian School Basketball team. (that was what I thought anyway, he was actully very much a geek.) He was the same hight as me, his birthday was in March, he was a year older than me. Him and I had the same numbered Jerseys (#20 which remained my number until I stopped playing sports in 10th grade) and he was sooo hot because he was double jointed and could stick his foot in his armpit and walk across a balance beam. Of course my parents did not approve of this very wise-beyond her years 6th grader having a boyfriend so we were "secret boyfriend/girlfriend" We'd go to volleyball/basketball tournaments and spend hours inbetween games walking around the gym talking and gazing into each other's eyes (he had BRIGHT BLUE EYES), and during the summer I was basically a fish so we'd meet at the swimming pool and hang out all day. This went on for oh, a good 7 months or so until we got into a fight and he started calling me SHARK WOMAN and one of the life gaurds at the pool thought we needed to "kiss and make-up" and locked us in the baby pool cage with Calvin's request until we did kiss... I climed the fence, ran home and never spoke to him again, thus my double jointed, armpit walking romeo was therefore no more. I honestly wonder what happened to him...

A New Start: That's what I need
Well, so much for a blog that was going to be posting of totally non-personal things... haha, that kinda flew out that window a long time ago. That's ok though. So yeah, lately I've been a basket case, a bundle of nerves, a crazy lady to say the least. I've been so unsettled in all the decisions I've made the last haha, 3 years? Yeah, 3 years. Everything I've said "hey, this is what God wants me to do" has really meant to be "hey, I'm not sure if this is what God wants me to do, so I'll just keep saying it is until I convince myself that it is what God wants me to do" Now, for the first time I've actually taken advice from my parents, teachers, and actually prayed about it and guess what, the unsettled feeling?? Gone. You know what it's gone cuz I realized I was not where I was supposed to be. Haha, can you really imagine me being an Elementary teacher? I don't do so well with young kids... well I do for a limited amount of time and only if they are related to or known me very well for a long time. I am cut out to be around older kids, I can't explain abstract concepts so concretly that a five-year-old can get it... I need to be able to converse with someone who can at least grasp illustrations and a small amount of abstractness..plus there is only one subject in all my el-ed training that I really enjoy, let me tell you it's not liturature, reading, vocabulary or spelllllling. Haha try Science. I've always been good at Science it's been a little bit of a passion, and Dr. Corrick has made that passion a little more real to me. So to make my rantings a little bit shorter than they could be. I've prayed, sought advice, talked to my parents (who, without question, and with 100% support (which is a big feat, not saying my parents don't support me, but they are sceptical at my "skeems for life") and a LOT OF PRAYER I've decided that I am no longer an El. Ed. Major. Nikki is now and forever more to be a Science Major. Let me hear a big hoo-ha for Science Teaching Nerds!!!!!!!

Faced with the choice...
I went home to Wyoming for Christmas, (yes I still call Wyoming home) and while I was in the Gillette Wal-Mart I ran into one of my girls from camp this year, Larrissa. (she's the one on my lap in the photo) She was sooo excited to see me and I got a big hug from her then her and her mom asked if I would mind having her in my cabin again this year at camp. My heart broke for a split second as I got the nerve to tell them I wasn't going to camp, but going to China instead. I know that China is an opportunity that will never come again and something I need to do, but my girls are sooo important and to give up those precious girls who have made just as much of an impact in my life as I have theirs is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. In a few years these girls won't be interested in camp anymore, it'll become a memory of the past and I feel like I have not invested as much into their lives as I should have, am I really willing to lose that for a summer??

7. Favorite Holiday memory: This one time I asked for a TV/VCR for Christmas or a car stereo (really wanted the TV/VCR though) and my parents got the present at Alco where I worked, I had questioned everyone I worked with if they sold my parents my Christmas present and no one would share with me except one guy, "Bo" He told me that I got the TV for Christmas. Bo felt terrible for telling me so he confessed to my parents and then my parents decided to pull the bigest "prank" on me ever. They had me believing that they took back the TV/VCR and had my grandma come up and talk to me "secretly" to let me know that my parents took the TV back and got me the car stereo instead and she wanted me to put on the happiest face in the world so that I wouldn't show a dissapointed face. Later I mentioned that conversation to my mom and my mom acted really upset because grandma had spoiled my Christmas... (even though she sent her to tell me) later that night we opened presents and I got my box (in the shape of a car stereo) and opened it. It was a box of rocks (which in reality was what I deserved) with a note in it that said "Your present is upstairs in your room" my parents snuck the TV upstairs and had me totally suprised. It was great!; Another great memory was the time I cried when my my mom guessed her Christmas present I bought her... Those silly Fuzzy Slippers :)

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? With garland, and lights and ornaments...
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it as long as it's warmer outside... when then temp drops below thirty I kinda grow a bitterness to snow.
12.Can you ice skate? Yes... Well... I have the ability to ice skate, but phyiscally I am incapable because my knee is need of surgery and I can't without fear of doing worse damage. (I put that last bit in for my mom, cuz we all know I'm stubborn and would probably go anyway ;)
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Haha, well the barbie mini-van from years ago ranks up there... and the TV and Gameboy that I begged for for year... my coffee pot :D and my purple sweater.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with my family
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Cheese Cake, Frog-eye salad, or pecan pie
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Meat and Cheese tray, Veggie tray for mom and I on Christmas eve (while dad stinks up the house with oyster stew) then we read from Luke 2 and open presents. Then it used to be a tradition that we watched home alone 2, but we quit that a few years ago....sad
17. What tops your tree? Either an Angel that lights up or this crinkly paper angel that's really cute
18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving... I'm a Christmas shop-a-holic. I've already got most of my Christmas shopping done, and I was sooo anxious to give my presents I had to make myself leave my parents presents here at school when I went home for Thanksgiving because I wanted to give them to them now! Hehe, I have a hard time fighting the urges... actully I wasn't able to fight one of my urges... Lisa already got her present. I'm such a kid!
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? From a Sacred standpoint: "O Come, O Come Emanuel" From a secular stand point: Sleigh Ride
