At our campus we have this disease that people like to refer to as the "nasties." This disease is criticle and somewhat life-threatening to those who are infected by it and those who are around those people infected by it.
The disease starts by just a glance....all it takes is just a glance, then it progresses into an obsession.... Ok, the disease???? Yeah it's nasty couples!!!! Just one glance and you could be a gonner! When the disease is at is peak, you will find yourself following some random dude (or dudette) that you just met a few months ago around watching every move they make, never giving yourself any personal time or homework time... grosing out your friends by looking longingly into the other person's eyes for hours (literally HOURS) on end never saying a word. Carring around stuffed animals that the other person gave you to all your classes (reminding you that you are in college too) sharing a tray at dinner, watching movies together over the telephone because you two cannot be together at that exact moment... Racking up $1000 cell phone bill cuz... oh yeah you forgot you are sharing a plan with your family and only get like 200 day time minutes and... here's the peak... BLOWING on each other during CHAPEL!!!!! !NASTY NASTY NASTY!!!!!! IS THERE NO SANITY LEFT IN THIS WORLD!?!?!?!?!

Ok people here's some early symptoms to keep in check to avoid the "nastyness":
1) If you find yourself stalking someone and waiting outside their classes for them... you're on your way to being a nasty;
2) If you are mentally planning a wedding with a particular someone you've only be interested in for 2 months.... you're on your way to being a nasty
3) If you are willing to throw away any call God has put in your heart for that specific person; you're well on your way to being a nasty
4) If you totally blow off time spending with your friends all the time to spend time with that "someone" you're pretty much a nasty
5) If YOU EVER BLOW ON SOMEONE IN CHAPEL wHILE THE PREACHING IS HAPPENING..... Shoot yourself now; YOU ARE A NASTY!!!!!!!!

So today I was searching Google for some sort of scientific fact about Mondays because I am beginning to think that Mondays are accursed! I ran into the lyrics of one of my favorite songs (Rainy Days and Mondays by the Carpenters) And I thought I'd post it for all those people who are having a monday too!!!!!! My prayers are with you!!!!!!

So, I've decided I am only gonna post in this blog when I can think of something random and controversial enough to post... (I will still keep my flickr account for all my personal junk) Anywho... Here's the random controversy of the day...

What on earth is it with such the emphasis on attractivness!? Seriously, here lately I've been hearing all about how life is not perfect unless you have a 5" 8', 6% body fat, perfect complexion, SUPER MODEL at your side. Ok, so maybe I'm exagerating it just a little bit, but I've come to the realization that a lot of the men at my school are shallow, and it's frustrating because people like me who come in contact with them always get the feeling that sure, though we're fun to talk to, and we are a great resource tool for advice because we think like a woman, we are never going to measure up to any sort of their standards because we are not "WOMAN" enough to attract any creature in the form of a male but they are woman enough to hear the words, "no, we're just friends, frankly she's like my sister". Ok, maybe I am just missing something, but the way it comes off, is that by most guys standards, unless you are attractive on the outside, there's no worth of what you have to offer "inside." Unfortunatly a "great personality and intellect" is just not "attractive" anymore. Now, before I offend anyone, I am not saying that ALL men are like this, but a lot of them are, and I am begining to wonder where all these "non-shallow" guys are hinding because it would really be great to find them.
And I have a question for all you guys... "WHERE EXACTLY DOES LOOKS FIT INTO THE WHOLE PICTURE?" I understand that there has to be some sort of attraction, but seriously is it all based on physical, and where does intellect fit in all of this!? And for all the guys who are really good guys trying to find a godly wife who is more than BARBIE, one little pointer for you... don't ever mention to any girl that they are a "sister" it can be the most hurtful thing you will ever say, chances are that "sister" of yours is probably in love with you, you just don't realize it!

Has it ever concerned you how absolutely spoiled our country has become? Take in for a moment the mindset of the "DINKS" (double income no kids) of our nation. Here a man and a women both have good paying jobs so that they can afford all of life's luxuries such as a HUGE 7 bed-5 bathroom HOUSE with a four car garage, in which is filled with 3 nice cars and a truch to pull the RV and/or boat that is kept in the "SHOP" (that also contains a snowmobile and/or ATV) in the 5 acre back yard, right beside the swimming pool (complete with waterslide) and spa. In side that little "palace" we have the best entertainment system money can afford, every DVD known to man, Music galore, a huge computer/gaming system and the neeman marcus furinture collection. Outside the HOUSE the landscapers come on a regular basis to keep the yard look elegant and refreshed and further beyond that is the gate inwhich visitors have to be "buzzed" into the little "COMMUNE" From an outsider's perspective the lives of these two people look amazing, but what we don't see is the overtime hours the husband works to finance the 7bed-5bath House, the wife is constantly working opposite hours from the husband in a work enviroment that is taxing and relentless... We also do not see the average of 8-10 meals a week eaten on the run in fast food restarants ALONE and the stress on the marriage caused by all the time apart.
A person like myself would look at this enviroment and wonder WHY all the stress neither one of the people are ever home to enjoy all the toys that they have, they have no kids to fill the 7 bedroom home, and they never have time to have visitors over to enjoy the landscaping... WHAT'S THE POINT? The answer can be simply stated as this "STATUS" All the toys means a lot of respect and high regard left in the hearts of their few friends that they still have... All this stress is simply for a gate and a buzzer.
